Massachusetts Seafood Supplier Expands Global Exports with Food Export-Northeast Branded Program

In 2020, East Coast Seafood, from New Bedford, Massachusetts, participated in Food Export-Northeast’s Branded Program, to maximize their international market advertising promotions.

Using their allocated funds to promote their products on social media and make label modifications helped the Massachusetts supplier gain international market shares for their fresh and frozen seafood products.

Through these promotions East Coast Seafood was able to gain over $200,000 in sales to the United Kingdom and over $150,000 in sales to Mexico. Along with these sales they also made 6 new foreign buyer contacts and established 2 new agent relationships.

Founded in 1981, East Coast Seafood provides superior quality standards, enhanced product offerings, and integrated logistical advantages. The company offers a state of the art processing facilities and an international reputation for providing superb products.

Over the last two decades, Food Export programs and services have helped the Massachusetts seafood supplier and its subsidiaries grow relationships in over 40 countries with reports of export sales in the six digit range. The company’s founder Michael Tourkistas has repeatedly expressed how deeply East Coast appreciates the Branded Program from Food Export and the respective employees that help make Branded activities a success every year. “We are incredibly grateful for the country specific support we gain through Food Export, which plays a critically significant role in our international marketing efforts”, said Christina Ferranti-Clift, Marketing Director for East Coast.  “Food Export has helped us to create a strong export foundation and allows us to expand each year”.
