Kansas Supplier Makes Invaluable Connections

“Food Export has been invaluable to us in establishing new contacts throughout the region. As a result, we have tripled our sales in the last few years through the great opportunities that Food Export has opened up to us.”

In November 2021, St. Amand Trade, located in Paxico Kansas, attended Food Export’s 2021 Caribbean Latin America Buyer’s Mission where they were able to establish 17 new foreign contacts with buyers from Latin America.

According to Joseph Toenjes, President of St. Amand Trade, “Food Export has been invaluable to us in establishing new contacts throughout the region. As a result, we have tripled our sales in the last few years through the great opportunities that Food Export has opened up to us.”

St. Amand Trade is a supplier of wine, brews, and spirits. The company has a developed niche within the Latin American and Caribbean market, where their products are in 30 different countries. These markets include Brazil, Panama, the Bahamas, Puerto Rico, and the Dominican Republic. St. Amand Trade strives to share the highest quality beverages to the South and has undoubtedly been successful. Their most popular products include wines from California, Oregon, and Washington. They offer several varieties including chardonnay, pinot gris, cabernet sauvignon, and merlot. St. Amand also ships craft beers and distilled spirits overseas to these countries as well.

Food Export uses funding from the Market Access Program (MAP) to help America’s small businesses increase their exports of food and agricultural products. As these exports increase, these small businesses are creating jobs and improving the strength and stability of our agricultural economy. Food Export-Midwest and Food Export-Northeast are non-profit organizations that work in collaboration with their member state departments of agriculture and the USDA’s Foreign Agricultural Service. They offer a wide range of programs and services that help boost America’s agricultural exports.
