    Food Export – Northeast is a private, non-profit trade association of Midwest state agricultural promotion agencies. Our mission is the development and expansion of international markets for U.S. food and value-added agricultural products. We participate in the Market Access Program (MAP) of the Foreign Agricultural Service of USDA. The association is currently seeking to hire for its Liaison position, located in Downtown Philadelphia.

    Responsibilities:

    Recruitment of new and potential food and agricultural exporters:

    • Contact existing customers via phone call and via email
    • Employ multiple approaches including technology and data analysis to identify new prospects for participation in Food Export programs and services
    • Attend industry events to meet and build relationships with exporters and partner agencies
    • Focus on creating and maintaining relationships to meet customers' needs

    Provide customer service and support to new and current participants in Food Export programs:

    • Assists companies with understanding and registering for programs and services
    • Responds to inquiries and opportunities effectively and quickly
    • Identifies success stories from participants and assists in collecting feedback and evaluations

    Other:

    • Ensures accuracy and integrity of company data in Customer Relationship Management database
    • Undertakes special projects from time to time

    Requirements:

    Education:

    • Bachelor’s Degree

    Work Experience (highly preferred):

    • +2 years of work experience in a related field, such as consultative selling, customer service, customer relationship management

     

    Core Competencies:

    • Excellent organizational, verbal/telephone/written communication skills
    • Excellent customer service, writing, proofreading, and editing
    • Highly detail-oriented and deadline driven
    • Ability to interact with multiple stakeholders at multiple levels, work independently and in a team environment
    • Understands when to elevate issues, works well under pressure, and assist with achieving organizational goals
    • High level of comfort with and understanding of technology and demonstrate ability with Word, Excel, and PowerPoint (Microsoft Office 365)
    • Experience with customer relationship management databases

     

    Nice to Have:

    • Experience in associations or small/medium size organizations

     

    Physical Demands/Work Environment:

     

    • Work is performed in a standard office environment. This position requires light duty physical work, conducting general office duties, participation in trade shows, and market promotions, Requirements include carrying multiple files and printed materials.
    • Weekend work 1-5 times per year to attend or exhibit at industry conferences for 1-5 days.
    • Travel to attend conferences and/or meetings 1-5 times per year for 1-5 days at a time.
